Questions researchers actually ask
Is the free plan really free?
Yes. One published site, unlimited editing, hosted forever at martiancrown.com/yourname. We do not ask for a card, and we do not expire it. Free sites carry a small MartianCrown badge in the corner.
What does the $10 actually buy?
Two things people ask for most: connecting your own domain (yourname.com, with a free SSL certificate we provision for you), and removing the MartianCrown badge. You also get up to 10 published sites and a much larger monthly allowance of AI-assisted edits.
Is it a subscription?
No. It is a single payment. There is no renewal, no expiry, and no card kept on file afterwards.
I already own a domain. Can I use it?
Yes — that is exactly what Pro is for. You add the domain in your dashboard, we give you one DNS record to create at your registrar, and the certificate is issued automatically once it resolves. Most people are live in under ten minutes.
Can I import my publications?
Yes. You can paste a Google Scholar profile URL, upload a BibTeX (.bib) file, or upload your CV as a PDF and we will extract publications, teaching and awards into editable sections.
What happens to my site if I stop paying?
Nothing — there is nothing to stop paying. Pro is a one-time purchase and your custom domain keeps working.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes, within 30 days of purchase. See the refund policy for the details, including the one carve-out for domains we have already provisioned certificates for.
